You better get in line for accommodation in Gisborne because statistics reveal there are fewer than 100 options.
Last year Gisborne had the smallest number of businesses operating in the accommodation industry.
It found Nelson and Taranaki were low on bed offers too.
The capital, Wellington, was in the middle with more overnight options than Whanganui, but less than Northland and Otago.

Canterbury and Auckland topped the list, with Canterbury having close to 800 accommodation businesses open in 2016.
Canterbury’s numerous options could be partly the result of housing construction workers amidst Christchurch’s reconstruction build.
Add food businesses to the numbers, and
