Those working in the finance, insurance, electricity and gas industries are getting the most cash in their hand each week, statistics suggest.
Figures from Statistics New Zealand last year found that staff in those industries were making close to an average of $1500 a week.
Retail and hospitality workers earned almost one third of that, it said.
New figures from Seek revealed that general practitioners were making the most money each year, earning an average of $138,000.

Seek New Zealand general manager Janet Faulding said the high pay-packets for doctors was due to a skills shortage.
