Single parents struggle the most to provide for the daily needs of their families, Statistics New Zealand has found.
Sixty per cent of single parents feel like they do not have enough money to pay for their everyday needs, and they struggle a good deal more than any other household make up.
Of the other households surveyed, none had more than 40 per cent of respondents saying they did not have enough money.
Households with no family nucleus, couples with children, and couples with no children saw similar levels of those reporting they made enough money.

Couples without children had the highest amounts of disposable income, with about 30 per cent feeling they had more than enough money.
A pair with children had more respondents reporting they had slightly more than enough money than those without families than those without a family nucleus.
Federation of Family Budgeting Services chief executive Raewyn Fox says the twin factors of low incomes and housing unaffordability mean more Kiwis are struggling.
