How an Airbus A380 is made – taking a tour of the Hamburg factory

First aviation nerd fact: an Airbus A380 has four million parts.

Second aviation nerd fact: The components come from all over Europe and cabin fit outs and painting at Airbus in Hamburg, Germany.

Non-aviation nerd dilemma: Does this make it reassuringly easy (like making up flat pack furniture) or a logistical nightmare that is cold comfort to nervous fliers?

The former, as a tour of the Finkenwerder facility in Hamburg shows a swift and efficient production line, giving off a distinct air of having things totally under control.
