NZ wine industry told it’s failing to make the most of international wine tourists

New Zealand’s wine industry should be doing more to cater for the growing number of wine tourists visiting the country, a new survey reveals.

The 2017 annual wine industry benchmarking and insights survey, titled Ripening Opportunities, showed while “much has already been done by the viticulture sector to ride the tourism wave”, there was scope for even more.

Some suggestions included tailor-made wine, creating “lasting authentic experiences”, and joint ventures with food and accommodation providers.
