Pizza firm Hell Pizza has put the brakes on a plan to serve up fried crickets as one of its toppings, after customers turned their noses up at the idea.
The company posted pictures on social media of crunchy, edible insects sitting perkily on top of the popular snack to test customer reaction.
But customers were not won over by the idea of a creepy crawly protein hit, and so Hell has exterminated the idea – for now.
Hell Pizza’s director Callum Davies thinks New Zealanders aren’t ready to have critters in their food yet.
