Most NZ children spend at least 2 hours a day screen-staring

Almost all Kiwi kids spend more than two hours a day staring at a screen, but not all screen time is created equal, Netsafe says. 

“Spending two hours on the internet passively consuming media that isn’t teaching anything isn’t as beneficial as spending two hours on the internet learning or being creative,” a Netsafe spokeswoman said.

She said parents needed to understand how their children were using the internet, before they capped its use.

Retired paralympian Liam Malone swaps the track for career in technology

Retired blade-running paralympian Liam Malone officially traded in the track for a career in technology on Monday. 

Malone, 24, begun his business development internship role at Auckland-based artificial intelligence firm Soul Machines.

​He will report directly to former Microsoft New Zealand managing director and PowerbyProxi co-founder Greg Cross.
