Tofu shows it can play yet another part. This time, it acts like feta

I’ve baked it, fried it, steamed it and eaten it raw. I’ve crumbled it, seasoned it and persuaded it to play the part of eggs (in a scramble and a salad) and even meat (in a “chorizo”). And every time I think I’ve pushed the limits of tofu, it surprises me by going further.

This guy ate junk food for every day of Junk Free June

Look, the last thing we would want to do is make fun of a charity that raises thousands for the Cancer Society, but you’ve got to admit that Junk Free June can get a little tiresome.

Kiwis spreading the love with bacon jam

It’s a food with a following bordering on fanatical that’s been sizzling in fry pans since ancient times. Meaty, smoky, salty, crunchy and so darned versatile, even just the thought of bacon is enough to set mouths watering, let alone catching a waft of its unmistakeable aroma.

Bar review: Sly grog at Christchurch’s O.G.B Bar and Cafe

You know a bar is on to a good thing when you walk in at 6pm on a cold wet Saturday and the place is crammed. Thinking we would arrive early before the crowds, we didn’t expect to get the only remaining table and for there to be a continuous flow of people through the doors before 7pm.
